Three High Passes & Peaks

  • Sorry, we couldn't find the dates you specified

The Ultimate Challenge in the Everest Region - one to really test your body and mind!

Are you ready to take on the most famous, all-encompassing and most challenging trek in the Hiamalays?

The three high passes and peaks trek (sometimes called just the '3 passes' because, for reasons we don't understand, many groups don't get to climb all the peaks - they just.. look at them) takes in all of the highlights of all the other treks in the Everest region - the best valleys, the best passes and the best peaks, plus views. Not only do we cross three stunning high passes but we also climb three of the most fantastic peaks that can be accessed without a full blown mountaineering expedition.

First we must cross the Renjo La pass (5465m), looking over into wild Tibet, before dropping down past the stunning blue Gokyo lakes where we'll make a pre-dawn start to tackle Gokyo Ri (5357m) and be rewarded with stunning sunrise views over the Ngozumpa Glacier, to Everest and more in the valley beyond. From Gokyo Ri we go on to face an exhilarating glacier crossing and a tough climb up to the peak of the winter wonderland, glacier covered Cho La pass (5420m), which will lead us down into the Everest Valley and on to Gorak Shep. We'll tackle Kala Patthar (5545m) in time to watch the sun set on Mount Everest and let the stars guide us down from the summit, before we follow Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay's infamous footsteps to Everest Base Camp (5365m) the next morning. From this valley we must cross the ever fluid Khumbu glacier, not far from the all powerful icefall, before making our way up a challenging route to the Kongma La pass (5535m) which often throws it's own set of extra challenges at us thanks to the ever changing conditions. The final assault for our trek-beaten bodies will be the highest altitude reached in any of our treks.. the "middle peak" summit of Chukhung Ri (5559m) where we'll see the whole Khumbbu region laid out from a brand new and much less often seen perspective.

Our local staff are paid a decent living wage, get provided with all the right gear and are always well looked after. We pride ourselves on our ethics.

Few things in our lives will ever be this challenging...

If you believe you're ready for the ultimate challenge, often as psychologically difficult as it is physical, then we invite you to join us as we cross Sherpa country in the best way imaginable!
